For this live stream, Rachel is joined by the fabulous Benjamin Ward on double bass. Yes! It’s all going to be about those low sounds – what a night! Rest assured, they will be an acceptable social distance away from each other, and will be playing with washed hands.
The live stream will be broadcast on the Youtube platform. Links to the stream will be emailed to all ticket purchasers 2 hours before the event.
For the best listening experience, it is recommended that you listen to the stream through headphones or external speakers. It’s best to check your setup before the concert by playing another video from Youtube. Bear in mind that video and audio quality may vary depending on your internet connection, network congestion, and other elements outside our control.
Programme includes works by J.S. Bach, M.B. Sibson, Henry Purcell, Edgar Meyer and Rossini. This concert is a version of what had been prepared for the live concerts in NSW that had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
Ben is new to Bach in the Dark audiences, but not to those who go to Sydney Symphony Orchestra concerts, as you will have seen him in the bass section there for a number of years. Rachel is so looking forward to playing with Ben – not just because he’s a wonderful musician, but also because the sound of cello and something even lower than the cello is such a delight.
