Bach in the Dark favourites Duo Agostino are back by popular demand! So many of you have asked for these two wonderful musicians to return, so get ready for a totally different program in November…
Rachel is joined by dear friends Janet and Raffaele Agostino for another night of music for this wonderful combination. Over the last few months, the three friends have been arranging and rehearsing new music to share with you all.
The trio will play Bach (both father and son), music by their good friend Richard Charlton, Villa-Lobos, Peter Sculthorpe and a few other surprises that you will love. They will move from Bach to how other composers have used Bach for their inspiration – get ready for a little something for everyone!
The concert will feature Bach’s first sonata for Viola da Gamba Sonata, J.S. Bach’s ‘Little’ fugue, C.P.E. Bach’s ‘Solfeggietto’, Villa-Lobos’ arrangement of a movement from his fifth ‘Bachianas Brasilieras’ and Richard Charlton’s ‘Construct No. 1’ (often heard on ABC Classic). There will also be an arrangement of a Marcello Oboe Concerto by J.S. Bach, and a tribute to Bach by the American guitarist Frederic Hand.
The live stream will be broadcast on the Youtube platform. Links to the stream will be emailed to all ticket purchasers 2 hours before the event. If you have not received the link by 5.30pm (Sydney time) on the day of the concert, please email bachinthedark@gmail.com so it can be sent to you directly.
For the best listening experience, it is recommended that you listen to the stream through headphones or external speakers. It’s best to check your setup before the concert by playing another video from Youtube. Bear in mind that video and audio quality may vary depending on your internet connection, network congestion, and other elements outside our control.
